History of the Organization
In 1986, Cameron Morrison, the Student Government Advisor at Halifax West High School, along with Andrew Demond (former president of Sights and Sounds Productions) had a vision for an organization in Nova Scotia run by students. In 1992, the N.S.S.S.A was officially registered with the "Joint Stock Companies" under the direction of Mark Fraser at Halifax West.
Through hard work and dedication the goal of a provincial conference was achieved. L.I.N.K.'92 (Leadership In Nova Scotia Kicks) was a success and 16 other conferences followed:

In 2005 a provincial conference for students with special needs was introduced to the organization which is referred to as the inclusion conference. This conference was called G.O.A.L. ’05 (Great Opportunities for Achievement & Learning), and has been followed by 5 other conferences:
