The Metro Region is made up of the Halifax Regional School Board, as well as other schools such as the French and private schools in the Halifax Region Municipality. Each year the Metro Region holds a Grade 9 Conference and a High School Conference at Mount Saint Vincent University.
Our Grade 9 Conference A.L.I.E.N.S (Adolescents Learning In Exciting New Surroundings) was held on Saturday November 17th from 9am-9pm. This conference had 130 grade 9 students attend and was the largest grade 9 conference in the history of the NSSSA. Overall the day was very successful and hopefully the grade 9's that attended A.L.I.E.N.S will continue to come to future conferences and continue with leadership!
Our Regional Conference R.O.Y.A.L (Revolution Of Young Adult Leadership) will be on February 23rd-24th. At this conference there will be over 300 student leaders learning leadership skills through hands on activities and working as a team to complete initiatives. Grade 9 students who have attended A.L.I.E.N.S are welcome to attend this conference!
