NSSSA’s Business Support Services team helps ensure NSSSA runs smoothly behind the scenes. Our team members focus on essential non-program tasks that support our volunteers in creating unforgettable experiences for participants.
Our team gets things done. We work directly on capacity-building projects and connect NSSSA volunteers with individuals who can support them.

Accessibility
NSSSA has made a commitment to smashing barriers and making our programming as accessible as possible.
Our Accessibility Leads support cabinets in creating accessible spaces. The team serves as navigators for participants with disabilities in advocating for the supports they need at our events.

- Re-visioned and refreshed the Accessibility Program and added dedicated Accessibility Co-Lead roles (2025)
- Introduced multi-year Accessibility Strategy and first dedicated accessibility role (2023)
Technology
We keep NSSSA connected and secure. The IT team provides cloud-based communication, collaboration and design tools for over 100 volunteers that make up NSSSA.
Recent Technology Projects
- Expanded Moodle eLearning platform for hybrid and asynchronous training (2025)
- Deployed bulk email platform collaboration with the Media Team in response to communications survey data (2024)
- Deployed organization-wide email and collaboration tools (2023)
- Launched new internal “NSSSA Today” intranet site for cabinet members (2023)
Governance & Policy
We support the Provincial Cabinet in governing NSSSA. We do this through advice and policy-writing support. We work closely with and in support of the Governance & Policy Planning Committee to recommend bylaw and policy amendments and additions to Provincial Cabinet.
Recent Governance & Policy Projects:
- Launched the Governance & Policy Planning committee (2025)
- Created policies respecting the handling of disciplinary measures including appropriate checks and balances (2025)
